Annual Kids Fishing Derby
June 2026. On Saturday, June 6, we were excited to welcome 100 kids from throughout Boone County to our annual Kids Fishing Derby. This beloved, free event is open to children ages 5 to 17 and continues a 33-year tradition of bringing the community together through fun, family-friendly activities.
Hundreds of fish were caught and returned to the Hot Pond, including a 20 1/2 inch catfish! Trophies and prizes were awarded by age group and all participants received a swag bag, hot dog, and a Kona Ice sweet treat!

2026 Lebanon Kiwanis Club Scholarship Recipients
May 2026. At the Lebanon and Western Boone High School Honors Nights, Lebanon Kiwanis President Rob proudly presented this year’s Kiwanis scholarships and awards, recognizing outstanding students for their achievements in academics, service, technical education, and athletics.
Lebanon High School:
Marli McConnell was honored with the Lebanon High School Kiwanis Technical Scholarship, while Brynner Sloan and Madalynn Welty received the Kiwanis Club Service Scholarships for their dedication to helping others and making a positive impact in the community.
In addition, Charlotte Kleindl and Nikolas Trepcos were recognized with the Lebanon Kiwanis Athletic Awards for their excellence and leadership in sports.
Western Boone Jr Sr High School:
Rebbeca Rustin and Issac Threlkeld received the Kiwanis Club Service Scholarships for their dedication to helping others and making a positive impact in the community.
Congratulations to all of this year’s recipients on their hard work and accomplishments!
72nd Lebanon Kiwanis Pancake Supper
April 2026. Wow, there are no words! Over 1,000 community members joined us at the 72nd Annual Pancake Supper! While we’re still finalizing the financial impact of the event, we’re so thankful to our community for their support!

Christmas Bells Are Ringing
December 6, 2025. Members of the Lebanon Kiwanis Club, LHS Key Club, and LMS Builders Club were in full force on Saturday, ringing bells with holiday cheer to support the Salvation Army of Boone County. This cherished annual tradition brings the entire Kiwanis family together—united in spirit, service, and a shared commitment to lifting up our community!
We’re thrilled to share that the Kiwanis family set a new record during bell ringing—raising more than $3,000 in a single day to support the Salvation Army of Boone County! 🎉

Racing for Safety - Free Bike & Pedestrian Safety Course for Kids!
Join the Fun at the Witham Family YMCA Back to School Bash!
Get ready to roll! Kids of all ages (grades K–8) are invited to join the Racing for Safety Bike Rodeo —a FREE and fun-filled event focused on bicycle and pedestrian safety. It’s happening during the Back to School Bash at the Witham Family YMCA (2791 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon) on Friday, August 1, from 4:30–6:00 p.m.
At this hands-on course, children will:
✅ Learn how to stay safe while biking, skating, scooting, or walking
✅ Practice using hand signals and recognizing traffic signs
✅ Discover why helmets matter—and how to wear them properly
✅ Test their skills on a fun safety course No bike? No problem! Bikes and helmets will be provided for kids to use—or bring your own for a free safety check courtesy of Hawks Nest Cycling.

“This course is a great opportunity for all kids—whether they use bikes, skateboards, scooters, wheelchairs, or just their own two feet—to build confidence and stay safe while navigating our roads and sidewalks,” said Randy Waltz from the Boone County Health Department. “Free bike helmets and bike reflectors will be available while supplies last,” added Baili Hart, President of the Kiwanis Club of Lebanon.

71st Annual Lebanon Pancake Supper - April 10th
February 2025. The 71st Annual Lebanon Kiwanis Pancake Supper will be held on Thursday, April 10 at the Boone County Fairgrounds – Farm Bureau Building. This annual rite of spring brings people from throughout the area to enjoy all you can eat pancakes and sausage. This year’s theme is Improving the World One Pancake at a Time.
Your fun loving Lebanon Kiwanians will be serving up golden brown pancakes from 5 – 8 p.m. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased ONLINE, at the door or from a local Kiwanian. (Kids ages five and younger eat for free!) For those who do not have the time for a sit-down meal, they may take their pancakes and sausage to go.
The Refuge Coffee will be selling delicious hot and cold coffee drinks and four local non-profit organizations will be onsite to share information on their programs and services.
Proceeds from this event support youth and community programs and events supported by the Lebanon Kiwanis Club. Special thanks to All Animals Veterinary Clinic and Wessler Engineering for being the Diamond Griddle sponsors this year.

This prestigious award is given annually to a member who demonstrates exceptional dedication to the club’s mission of improving the lives of children and enhancing the local community.
Wagner, who joined the Kiwanis Club of Lebanon in 2023, has quickly made a lasting impact on the organization. In just a year, he has shown exemplary commitment through active participation in club events, serving on the board of directors, and volunteering at service projects that benefit the community.
"Notably, Jeff played a crucial role in setting a new sponsorship record for our 70th annual pancake supper by engaging new companies," said Past President Kim Newnam. "His commitment and support for our club have been truly invaluable, and he embodies the spirit of Kiwanis in every endeavor."
Beyond his contributions to the Kiwanis Club, Jeff Wagner also serves as the Public Information Officer for Fluor. His passion for service and leadership has been instrumental in advancing the club’s goals and ensuring continued success.

Racing for Safety Bike Rodeo Coming to Lebanon
June 27, 2024. Children are invited to attend a free Racing for Safety course during the Witham Family YMCA Back to School Bash on Friday, July 26 from 4:30 – 6 p.m. at the Witham Family YMCA, 2791 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
At the Racing for Safety course, children learn about traffic safety basics and practice their skills and knowledge on how to be safe on bikes or whatever kinds/types of wheels they use or as pedestrians. Bike helmets and bikes will be there for children to use during the course.
“We are pleased to present a Racing for Safety bicycle and pedestrian safety course, which is open to kids in grades K-8 in our community. A Racing for Safety course gives all children who use any kind of wheels, including bikes, adapted bikes, wheelchairs, non-powered scooters, skates, or a skateboard, a chance to learn information and practice skills to be safe in traffic when riding or walking” says Randy Waltz, Boone County Health Department.
“Children will learn the importance of wearing a bike helmet, basic rules of the road, hand turn signals, and basic traffic safety signs,” shared Kim Newnam, president of the Kiwanis Club of Lebanon. “Free bike helmets will also be available while supplies last.”
The Kiwanis Club of Lebanon and the Boone County Health Department are presenting the Racing for Safety course.

2024 Annual Fishing Derby a Success!
June 1, 2024. Over 115 kids ages 5 - 17 attended the annual Lebanon Kiwanis Fishing Derby. This event is one of the hallmarks of the Lebanon Kiwanis Club’s efforts to provide quality family-oriented events for local children, and the event reflects over 30 years of community service in promoting a fun family activity that has made for many a very memorable experience.
Every year the club stocks the Hot Pond in Lebanon with new fish. This year was no different with 100 bluegill, 100 bass and 200 catfish added to the mix.

70th Annual Pancake Supper Was Out of Sight!
April 12, 2024. Your Lebanon Kiwanians served over 1,200 community members tasty pancakes and delicious sausage at the 70th Annual Pancake Supper. A steady line of customers kept the Kiwanis "Flippers" flipping pancakes from 4:30 until 8 p.m. A multitude of other volunteers replenished batter, baked sausage, served up pancakes/sausage, drinks and 2nd servings, cleared tables, washed trays, emptied trash cans and more.

Kiwanian of the Year
December 2024. Congratulations to Todd Byrd for receiving the 2023 Kiwanian of the Year award. This prestigious award is given to a Kiwanian who goes above and beyond to support the Kiwanis Club of Lebanon.
Todd serves as our "Quality Control Officer" for the annual Pancake Supper, volunteers for our many service projects and serves on the board of directors.
Todd is the President and CEO of Home National Bank.

Kiwanis Family Rings for Salvation Army of Boone County
On December 2, 2023, over twenty-five members of the Lebanon Kiwanis Club, LHS Key Club and LMS Builders Club rang bells for the Salvation of Army of Boone County. During their eight-hour shift at the Lebanon Wal-Mart, they raised over $1,800 to support local families in need. Holiday cheer was shared by all who volunteered!
